Evolve

Evolve is a quarterly digital magazine that we’ve created for Volunteering England’s Modernising Volunteering Programme.

Evolve didn’t start out with that name, we decided to call it that. It’s often the case that we get told, ‘we want a newsletter, here are the stories. Can you put something together.’

We tend to then strip the whole thing to bare bones, look at the budget we’ve got and see what we can create within these constraints that is eye-catching and suitable for the audience.

In the case of Evolve we opted on cost effective Royalty Free imagery which in each issue would pull together the copy. The first issue used hands to get across the ‘hands-on’ approach. Issue two was a jigsaw puzzle as the  organisation was putting together the pieces of the research and issue three was based around various factions of volunteering coming together to discuss findings so we used the idea of paperchain people joining hands to build the future of volunteering.

An why Evolve? Modernising Volunteering is all about evolution and how volunteering will manifest and grow forward into the future.
